Operation 1084C10 · Engine oil cooling circuit

2.4 20v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1088E10 radiator cooling fan - r + r

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 1080B40 catalytic pre-converter - r r

1. Undo and remove the engine oil filter.

Recover the oil in a suitable container.

1.9 JTD 8v

Removing

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1084B30 engine oil filter r r

Position a suitable container beneath the heat exchanger to collect the coolant fluid.

1. Disconnect the engine coolant inlet and outlet pipes from the oil cooling exchanger.

2. Undo the fixing pin (2a) and remove the oil cooling exchanger (2b).

1. Loosen the bands and disconnect the coolant supply and return pipes to the heat exchanger.

Recover the coolant which comes out in a suitable container.

1.9 JTD 8v

Refitting

Position the oil cooling exchanger on the oil pump front cover.

Tighten to torque the pin fixing the oil cooling exchanger.

Connect the engine coolant inlet and outlet pipes to the oil cooling exchanger.

Check the amount of coolant present in the engine.

Top if using the same coolant if necessary.

2.4 20v

1. Undo the connector (1a) and remove the engine oil heat exchanger (1b).

Refitting

Fit the engine oil heat exchanger and secure it with its connector.

Connect the coolant supply and return pipes to the heat exchanger and secure them with their bands.

Tighten the bolts securing the coolant pipe mounting brackets to the crankcase.

- 0010T11 engine oil check level and top up.

- 0010T21 coolant check density and top up if necessary.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Connect the battery negative terminal lead.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.
