POWER HOOD OPERATION
The power hood can only be operated when the starter switch is at position 'II' and the hand brake is applied. The power hood relay (1), located behind the centre console, will then be energised to supply power to the hood up and down relays.
To open: Push each locking catch (2) up and pull down on the locking handles to unlock the hood. Press and hold the bottom of the rocker switch (3). The hood down relay (4) is energised and operates the power hood motor (5) which supplies hydraulic pressure to retract the hood rams, this in turn opens and folds the hood.
To close: Open the rear windows, one turn of handle. Press and hold the top of the rocker switch (3), the hood up relay (6) is energised and operates the power hood motor (5) in the opposite direction to supply hydraulic pressure to extend the hood rams. The hood is raised and opened out to the header rail. Pull both locking handles down and forward to engage the locking hooks (7) in the slots at the top of the 'A' posts and push handle up into the locked position.
If the switch is held after the rams have reached the end of their stroke, the motor runs at reduced speed under load; release the switch immediately.
