SUN ROOF OPERATION
Manual
When the handle (1) is released from its stowed position and rotated, the cables (2) slide the glass panel (3) forward or rearward in response to the clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation of the handle.
Initial movement of the glass panel from the closed to open position will release its contact with the spring loaded front deflector (4). The deflector rises above roof level to minimise draughts.
When the handle is cranked to close the glass panel an audible click is heard at the instant of panel closure. When cranking is continued beyond this point the rear edge of the glass panel (5) will rise above roof level to provide ventilation if required.
Electric
The operation and response of the sun roof to rotation of the electric motor is identical to that of its manually operated counterpart. Motor operation is controlled by a fascia mounted switch. A winding handle, stowed in the luggage compartment next to the wheel trim remover, provides facility for manual operation in the event of an electrical defect.
