Compression, Check

Engine at operating temperature (oil temperature >= 80 °C).   Remove Remove glow plugs – see operation "Glow Plugs, Remove and Install". Insulate all glow plug cable connections. Unlock injection pump wiring harness plug (1) in direction of arrow and detach. Use compression recorder with a measuring range of from 10 to 40 bar in conjunction with Connecting Piece KM-533-B and Adapter KM-533-5.

  Inspect

Actuate starter for approx. 4 sec. – min. engine speed 200 rpm.

Permissible pressure difference between individual cylinders of approx. 100 kPa (1 bar) should not be exceeded.

Compression: 2200 kPa (22 bar) to 3000 kPa (30 bar).

  Install

Connect wiring harness plug to injection pump control unit and lock.

Install glow plugs – see operation "Glow Plugs, Remove and Install".
