  1. Slacken the two screws on each side of the tunnel, fastening the sides.
  2. Remove the tunnel sides.
  3. Slacken the two screws fastening the tunnel console to the centre console.

  1. Disconnect the console wiring electrical connection.
  2. Remove the tunnel console.

  1. If necessary, remove the eight clamps fastening the gearshift lever cover to the console.
  2. Remove the gearshift lever cover.

Refit the tunnel console reversing the sequence followed for removal.

REMOVAL - REFITTING ('98 versions)

  • Disconnect the battery.
  1. Extract the central unit plate.
  2. Open the armrest and loosen the fastening screws.
  3. Extract the armrest assembly and compartment.
