REMOVAL/REFITTING ('98 versions)

1. Using tool N° 1.823.014.000 remove the dash-board upper covers.

1. Slacken the four screws fastening the climate con-trol unit panel.
2. Release the panel from the side brackets.
3. Slacken the two screws on the bottom of the pas-senger's side Air Bag compartment.

1. Slacken the two upper screws.
2. Slacken the centre screw.
3. Slacken the two side screws, on each side.
4. Remove the dashboard (to be carried out by two operators).

Lubricate the coupling surface with the cli-mate control unit with vaseline.

Refit the dashboard reversing the sequence followed for removal.

REMOVAL/REFITTING ('98 versions)

• Remove the tunnel unit (see specific paragraph).
• Remove the central unit (see specific paragraph).
• Remove the steering wheel and the half casings (see ASSEMBLY 41).
• Remove the steering column stalk (see ASSEM-BLY 55).
• Remove the dashboard panel (vehicles without passenger side airbag - see specific paragraph).
• Remove the passenger side airbag device, where fitted (see ASSEMBLY 55).
• Remove the passenger side airbag disable switch (see ASSEMBLY 55).
• Remove the climate control assembly (see AS-SEMBLY 50).
• Remove the auxiliary instrument panel (see AS-SEMBLY 55).
