VALVE TAPPETS - CHECK CLEARANCE

1.9 Multijet

Op. 1016A10 SOUND-PROOFING COVER - R.R

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the cam cover (1b) complete with gasket.

2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the camshaft and a tappet shim.

Rotate the camshaft using the drive pulley nut and check the clearance for all the tappets,

- Place the tappet cover complete with gasket back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Op. 1016A20 SINGLE TAPPET COVER -R.R AND REPLACE GASKET

- With the engine cold, use a feeler gauge to check that the valve clearance is within the specified limits with the valves closed.

- Rotate the camshaft and check the clearance for all the tappets.

Refitting
