Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 7015A04 tailgate interior panel - r+r

- 7015A58 internal tailgate moulding (one) - r+r

- 7015B10 single tailgate lock - r+r or repair with panel/protection removed

- 5550D16 third stop light - r+r

- 7015B30 exterior handle or block support - r+r with panel/protection removed

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the rear wiper motor.

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 7210G76 rear spoiler

- 5050C34 rear wiper arm with blade - r+r

- 5050C50 ADAPTOR between rearscreen motor and rearscreen arm on folding opening window - R.R.

- 7035B64 TELESCOPIC STRUT for raising folding opening rearscreen glass (one), left or right - R.R.

- 7035B60 FOLDING OPENING REARSCREEN WINDOW - R.R.

- 7035B72 Folding opening rear windscreen FRAME - R.R.

- 5540A68 l/h or r/h interior tail light (one) - r+r

- 7035B76 Folding opening rearscreen glass lower TRIM - R.R.

- 7015A05 tail-gate lower interior panel-r r

- 7015A06 tail-gate upper interior panel-r r

- 7035B68 Folding opening rearscreen glass LOCK - R.R.

- 7015B64 SWTICH HOLDER and NUMBER PLATE MODULE in tailgate opening handle and/or rearscreen glass - R.R.

- 5050C42 rear wiper motor - r+r

- 7015B10 single tailgate lock - r+r or repair with panel/protection removed

- 7015B36 lock block-r r

- 7015B60 EXTERIOR HANDLE for opening TAILGATE with switch for tailgate release - R.R.

- 7015A32 tail gate compartment strip - r+r

1. Release the telescopic struts (1a) near the fastenings on the tailgate, then undo the fixing bolts (1b) on the hinges (1c).

2. Remove the tailgate.

All versions

1. Disconnect the rear washer delivery pipe (1a) from jet (1b).

Refitting

Position the tailgate and tighten the bolts fixing it to the hinges to the recommended torque.

- 7015B64 SWTICH HOLDER and NUMBER PLATE MODULE in tailgate opening handle and/or rearscreen glass - R.R.

- 7035B68 Folding opening rearscreen glass LOCK - R.R.

- 7015A06 tail-gate upper interior panel-r r

- 7015A05 tail-gate lower interior panel-r r

- 7035B76 Folding opening rearscreen glass lower TRIM - R.R.

- 5540A68 l/h or r/h interior tail light (one) - r+r

- 7035B72 Folding opening rear windscreen FRAME - R.R.

- 7035B60 FOLDING OPENING REARSCREEN WINDOW - R.R.

- 7035B64 TELESCOPIC STRUT for raising folding opening rearscreen glass (one), left or right - R.R.

- 5050C50 ADAPTOR between rearscreen motor and rearscreen arm on folding opening window - R.R.

All versions

Disconnect the electrical connections for the heated rear window.

Release the tail-gate electrical wiring from the retaining clips and place aside.

1. Using a screwdriver, release the retaining springs (without removing them).

2. Release and remove the telescopic strut.

Carry out the same operations for the remaining telescopic strut.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the tailgate (1b).

Carry out the tailgate removal operations with the aid of a second operator.

Place the tailgate on a suitable stand.

Refitting

Check that the tailgate is undamaged.

If necessary touch up the paintwork.

Fit the tailgate and loosely tighten the hinge bolts, tailgate side, without tightening to torque.

Refit the telescopic strut, press-fitting the ends of the anchoring pins in their seats, tailgate side.

Re-arrange the tailgate electrical wiring and secure to the retaining clips on the tailgate.

Connect the heated rear window electrical connections.

Connect the rear washer delivery pipe to the jet.

Connect the rear wiper motor electrical connector.

Connect the battery negative terminal.
