Functional description
Passive entry control unit M64 is present in case of ignition key/switch absence to monitor and control the entire car access system.
Control unit M64 is supplied- al pin 31 - from a line protected by fuse F63 of boot control unit B45; pin 10 of M64 is earthed.
A number of aerials monitor the car exterior and interior. They detect the presence of a CID and send signals to control unit
on the car exterior:
- right front door passive entry radio aerial P95 is connected to pins 14 and 35;
- left front door passive entry radio aerial P94 is connected to pins 13 and 24;
- right rear door passive entry radio aerial P97 is connected to pins 16 and 37;
- left rear door passive entry radio aerial P96 is connected to pins 15 and 36;
- rear bumper passive entry radio aerial P98 is connected to pins 11 and 32;
inside the car:
- facia passive entry radio aerial P78 is connected to pins 41 and 42;
- tunnel passive entry radio aerial
- boot interior passive entry radio aerial P100
Radio aerial for passive entry control unit P15 is connected to pins 1 and 22 of M64; it receives an door open/close signal; this request is sent to Body Computer M1See E3040 CENTRAL LOCKING.
Passive Entry radio aerial P99 is connected to pins 19 and 40 of M64; manages the GARAGE function, when CID battery is flat.
Switches on all four door handles control Passive Entry motor opening.
- switch I22 on the right front door is connected to pins 4 and 5 of M64; and control unit M67;
- switch I23 on the left front door is connected to pins 2 and 3 of M64; and control unit M66;
- switch I24 on the left rear door is connected to pins pin 6 and 23 of M64; and control unit M63;
- switch I25 on the right rear door is connected to pins 24 and 25 of M64; and control unit M63.
- the boot switch located in assembly F52 is connected to pins 26 and 27 of M64 and Body Computer M1, pin 35 of connector I E (boot handle opening/closing signals)
The Passive Entry motor block/release function: is controlled by the driver door control unit M66, passenger side door unit M67 and the boot control unit (which controls rear doors) M63; all these are connected via the CAN line to Body Computer
According to the control strategy described, control units M66 and M67 control the Passive Entry motors on the front door locks (driver side N50, passenger side N51 ) from pins 1 and 2 of connector D.
The control is operated by a special electronic device M122 (driver's door side) and M123 (passenger door side): these devices are supplied by the line for fuse F32 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.
Control unit M63 controls the Passive Entry motors on rear door locks (left N55 and right N56 ): from pins A6 and C4 of connector A, or A3 and C3 of connector B.
This control is also operated by a special electronic device M124 (left door) and M125 (right door): these devices are supplied by the line for fuse F36 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.
