INLET CAMSHAFT COVER GASKET

Service repair no - 12.29.41

Remove

  1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
Inlet camshaft cover gasket – Disconnect battery earth lead.
  1. Remove 4 screws securing spark plug cover, remove cover.
  2. Release clips and disconnect 2 breather hoses from camshaft cover.
  3. Remove 2 bolts securing support brackets to inlet manifold.
  4. Remove 12 bolts securing camshaft cover.
  5. Collect 2 manifold support brackets.
  6. Remove camshaft cover.
  7. Remove and discard baffle/gasket plate.

Refit

  1. Clean camshaft cover and mating face of camshaft housing.
  2. Position NEW baffle/gasket plate to camshaft housing.

NOTE: Fit baffle/gasket dry.

  1. Fit camshaft cover.
  2. Position inlet manifold support brackets to camshaft cover.
Inlet camshaft cover gasket – Position inlet manifold support brackets to camshaft cover.
  1. Fit bolts securing camshaft cover finger tight and tighten in sequence shown to 10 Nm.
  2. Fit bolts securing inlet manifold to support brackets and tighten to 6 Nm .
  3. Connect breather hoses to camshaft cover and secure clips.
  4. Fit spark plug cover, fit screws and tighten to 2 Nm.
  5. Connect battery earth lead.
