Service Repair No. 18.20.34

Remove

  1. Remove distributor cap, see Distributor Cap.

  1. Remove flash shield.
  2. Remove distributor, see Distributor.
Igniter unit mounted on plate with callouts for screws, washers, wiring clip, and lucars (callouts 4, 5, 6, 7)
  1. Remove screw securing wiring clip to igniter.
  2. Remove 2 screws securing igniter.
  3. Disconnect 4 lucars from igniter, noting lead positions.
  4. Remove igniter.

  1. Remove 2 screws and washers securing igniter to mounting plate.
  2. Remove igniter from mounting plate.

Refit

  1. Position igniter to mounting plate, fit washers and screws and tighten two screws.
  2. Position igniter into distributor, identify and connect 4 lucars.

  1. Secure white lead into clip.
  2. Align igniter to distributor body, fit and tighten 2 screws.
  3. Align wiring clip, fit and tighten screw.
  4. Fit distributor, see Distributor.
  5. Refit flash shield.
  6. Fit distributor cap, see Distributor Cap.
