SELF-DIAGNOSIS
If a fault occurs, the ECU will memorise the fault, and when the self-diagnosis system is initiated, the ECU sends a signal in the form of a ’flash code’ to the ’Sports’ mode warning light. Self-diagnosis is initiated as follows:
- Ensure ignition is switched off.
- Press and hold down the ’Sport and ’Snow’ switches simultaneously.
- Switch on ignition.
- Release ’Sport and ’Snow’ switches within 4 seconds.
- ’Sport’ mode warning light will commence flashing fault code 4 seconds after releasing switches.
Always clear the memory after self-diagnosis otherwise the fault will be displayed in the next self-diagnosis.
To clear memory, remove fuse ’F’ (10A), located in the steering column fuse box for at least 5 minutes.
NOTE: Faults can also be diagnosed using TestBook.

Example: Shift solenoid B, short circuit (fault code 4-2).
- A = on
- B = off
