COOLING SYSTEM
WARNING: Since injury such as scalding could be caused by escaping steam or coolant, do not remove pressure relief cap from expansion tank while system is hot. Wait until system has cooled. Use a cloth or glove to protect hands from escaping steam.
Check level and top-up
The coolant level should only be checked when the system is cold.
- Remove pressure relief cap from expansion tank.
- Check coolant level reaches indicator plate in expansion tank. If level is appreciably low suspect leakage or overheating.
- If required top-up with anti-freeze solution. See INFORMATION, Capacities, fluids and lubricants.
CAUTION: The coolant must not be higher than level indicator plate.
- Check specific gravity of coolant. The overall anti-freeze concentration must not be below 50% by volume and must not exceed 60% by volume.
- Refit pressure relief cap to expansion tank.
Drain and refill
