LUBRICATION

The engine and other lubricating systems are filled with high-performance lubricants giving prolonged life.

CAUTION: You should always use a high quality oil of the correct viscosity range in the engine and gearbox during maintenance and when topping-up. The use of oil not to the correct specification can lead to high oil and fuel consumption and ultimately to damaged components.

Oil to the correct specification contains additives which disperse the corrosive acids formed by combustion and prevent the formation of sludge which can block the oil ways. Additional oil additives should not be used. Always adhere to the recommended servicing intervals.

Engine oil

VISCOSITY / TEMPERATURE RANGES

Engine oil – VISCOSITY / TEMPERATURE RANGES

KV6 Engine

Use oil meeting specification RES.22.OL.G4 or the requirements of CCMC G4, and having a viscosity band recommended for the temperature range of your locality. Where oils to these RES and European specifications are not available, well known brands of oils meeting API SG or SG/CD quality should be used.

Diesel engine

Use oil meeting specification RES.22.06.PD4 or the requirements of CCMC PD4 and having a viscosity band recommended for the temperature range of your locality.

Manual gearbox - PG1

Use the following oils for refill or topping-up:

TEXACO MTF 94 UNIPART MTF 94

The following oils may be used for topping-up only:

Use oils meeting the requirements of RES.22.OL.G4 or CCMC G4 in the viscosity band 10W/40.

Gear linkage

Use a grease containing 3% Molybedenum Disulphide.

Automatic gearbox - JF403E

825 KV6 models

The following fluid may be used for refill or topping-up:

Use Texaco N402 Transmission Fluid.

The following fluid may be used for topping-up only:

Use fluid meeting Dexron II D specification.

Power Steering

Use a fluid meeting Dexron II D specification or UNIPART PSF-V.

General Greasing

Use Multipurpose Lithium Base Grease N.L.G.I. consistency No. 2.
