Exhaust

  1. Remove 2 bolts securing front camshaft rear cover plate.
  2. Remove cover plate.

Inlet and Exhaust

  1. Screw tool 18G 1299A into camshaft oil seal
  2. Remove oil seal by tightening centre bolt tool 18G 1299A – 1.

Refit

  1. Clean sealing area of cylinder head and camshaft, ensure all traces of rubber are removed – do not scrape. Lubricate sealing surfaces.

  1. Using tool 18G 1587, fit camshaft oil seal.

Inlet

  1. Fit rotor arm and tighten Allen screw to 8 Nm.
  2. Fit flash shield to cylinder head.
  3. Fit distributor cap to cylinder head, tighten screws to 3 Nm.
  4. Fit air cleaner element and cover, see MAINTENANCE.

Exhaust

  1. Fit front camshaft rear cover plate and tighten bolts to 4 Nm.

Inlet and Exhaust

  1. Connect battery earth lead.
