  1. Use tool 18G 1577 to remove valve stem oil seal.

Refit

  1. Lubricate new valve stem oil seal with engine oil.
  2. Use tool 18G 1577 to fit oil seal to valve stem.

  1. Position valve spring, spring cap and collets.
  2. Position tool MS 1567/1 to valve spring cap.
  3. Strike tool with hammer to secure spring cap to valve with collets. Ensure spring cap collets are correctly seated.
  4. Fit hydraulic tappet to valve.
  5. Disconnect air line, and remove adapter from cylinder head.
  6. Fit spark plug, see MAINTENANCE.
  7. Fit camshaft, see Engine Overhaul Manual.
  8. Fit camshaft cover, see Camshaft cover gasket – K8.
