CHECK MEASURED AIR MASS
| CHECK TO BE PERFORMED | RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK | |

| 1 | Turn the ignition key ON. With the engine off and all users off the measured Air Mass must be in a range between 0 and 1 kg/h | Move on to Step 5 |
| 2 | With the engine idling and warmed up, with the EGR valve closed and accelerator pedal not operated, the measured Air Mass must be in a range between 40 and 60 kg/h | Move on to Step 5 |
| 3 | With all users off, when the accelerator pedal is pumped several times, the measured Air Mass must be seen to alter in a short time. | Move on to Step 5 |
| 4 | With the EGR Valve open and accelerator pedal not operated, the Measured Air Mass must be in a range between 20 and 40 kg/h. The test may be said to be completed | Move on to Step 5 |
| 5 | Press the START/STOP button and turn off the engine. Disconnect the cable loom connector from the air flow meter. Press the START/STOP button. Measure the voltage between Pin 1 of the gauge and Earth, ensuring it is greater than 11 V. Move on to Step 7 | Move on to Step 6 |
| 6 | If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the flow meter. See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered over | Replace the junction unit Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R. |

| 9 | Measure the voltage between Pin 4 of the gauge and Earth, ensuring it is in a range between 4.8 and 5.2 V. | Move on to Step 8 |
| 10 | Replace the flow meter and check the fault has disappeared | Repair the original flow meter and replace the engine management control unit. |
