  1. Remove Allen bolt securing tensioner pulley to mounting plate.
  2. Remove tensioner.
  3. Remove 3 bolts securing injection pump timing belt back plate to cylinder head.

CAUTION: Do not remove locking pin 18G 1717.

  1. Remove back plate.
  2. Clean timing belt tensioner and backplate.

  1. Disconnect 2 main harness to engine harness multiplugs.
Disconnect 2 main harness to engine harness multiplugs.
  1. Disconnect multiplug from oil pressure switch.
  2. Remove terminal nut securing lead to No.2 glow plug.
  3. Disconnect lead from glow plug.
  4. Release injector needle lift sensor multiplug from injection pump bracket and disconnect multiplug.
  5. Drain cooling system. See MAINTENANCE.
