Refit

32. Fit tool 18G 1597 to bearing and press out bearing and discard. Remove hub from press.

CAUTION: Never re-use existing bearing.

Refit

1. Clean hub and drive flange and position hub to press.

2. Fit new bearing on tool 18G 1599/1 and press hub onto bearing using tool 18G 1599/2.
3. Fit disc shield.
4. Fit 3 screws to disc shield and tighten to 5 Nm.

5. Support hub and bearing assembly on tool 18G 1597.
6. Press drive flange into bearing.
7. Position hub on driveshaft and engage with base of strut. Ensure pip engages slot correctly.
8. Engage lower arm with hub.
9. Fit lower arm ball joint nut and tighten to 55 Nm.
10. Secure nut with a new split pin.
11. Fit bolt hub to damper and tighten to 80 Nm.
12. Fit steering arm ball joint to hub.
13. Fit steering arm ball joint nut and tighten to 44 Nm.
14. Secure nut with a new split pin.

ABS 2E models:

15. Position ABS sensor bracket to hub. Fit 2 screws and tighten to 22 Nm.
16. Position sensor to bracket. Fit screw and tighten to 9 Nm.
17. Position ABS sensor lead brackets to hub and damper.
18. Fit 4 sensor lead bracket screws and tighten to 9 Nm.

ABS 6 models:

19. Position ABS sensor to hub, fit 2 screws and tighten to 9 Nm.
20. Position ABS sensor lead brackets to hub and damper.
21. Fit 4 sensor lead bracket screws and tighten to 9 Nm.

All models:

22. Align reference marks and fit disc to hub, tighten screws to 7 Nm.
23. Fit caliper to hub. Fit 2 screws and tighten to 75 Nm.
24. Fit a new drive shaft nut and tighten to 185 Nm. Stake nut to shaft.
25. Fit road wheel and tighten nuts to 100 Nm.
26. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.
