INJECTOR SEAL CHECK

Check 1056BZ

1.2 8v

this test aims to check the seal of the pin valve on the injector being tested. The presence of dirt in the injector or wear can cause the seal to leak fuel into the intake duct along with the normal fuel flow causing the enrichment of the mixture.

This causes the following faults:

- Increased fuel consumption

- Unburnt fuel in the exhaust gas

- Difficulty in starting the engine when warm

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Disconnect 15A fuse F21 in the engine compartment control unit (as shown in Fig. 1)

Reconnect the battery negative terminal, then start the engine to release the fuel pressure in the supply pipe.

Reconnect 15A fuse F21

Connect connector N.° 1870684000 to the quick coupling on the fuel distribution manifold, connect tool N.°1870885001 (housed in case N.° 1870885000) to the connector and to this connect fuel pressure Kit EX07 (housed in case N.° 1806338000); connect 5 bar pressure transducer EX06 and arrange the valves (as shown in Fig.2)

Remove the intake manifold complete with injectors, keeping the low pressure pipe connected

Op. 1056B60 SINGLE FUEL MANIFOLD PIPE, WITH INJECTORS - R.R.

Disconnect the negative battery lead

Disconnect the injector wiring connection

Reconnect the negative battery lead

Connect an Examiner to the engine control unit and activate the active diagnosis of the fuel pump.

Check that there are no visible fuel leaks from the injector jets

Correctly reposition the fuel manifold complete with tools

Disconnect 15A fuse F21

Discharge the supply pressure

Disconnect tool N.° 1870684000 from the quick coupling on the fuel distribution manifold

Reconnect 15A fuse F21
