NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

1.2 8v, 1.3 Multijet, 1.4 16v

The number plate lights are switched on separately (RH and LH) by the Body Computer Node when the Side Lights on signal is received.

Test results
1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic socket and check the following at the Body Computer Node:

- that there are no faults.

Move on to Step 3Number plate lights short circuited to earth or open circuitMove on to Step 2
2ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Also check the condition of the affected RH or LH bulb/s.

- Check the continuity and insulation of the wiring between the connections on the Body Computer and the number plate light connector or the affected RH or LH wiring;

- Check the continuity and efficiency of the number plate light earth;

- Check the condition of the number plate light bulb internal circuit

Move on to Step 3

1. Bulbs inefficient.

2. Connection between Body computer and number plate light connector O.C. or S.C.

3. Earth interrupted or inefficient.

4. Connection with open circuit or short circuit

1. Replace the bulbs or bulb

2. Restore the electrical connection

4. Replace the light
