Flow meter supply check

Detach the connector attached to the flow meter and insert isolater AD 456 n° 1806590000 between the flow meter and the wiring.

Connect the Examiner test prods between pin 1 and the engine block earth.

Turn the ignition key to the START position and check that the battery voltage is more than 11 Volts.

Move on to Step 2

Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the junction unit and the flow meter

Replace the junction unit

Flow meter earth check

Connect the Examiner test prods between pins 1 and 2 of the isolater

Check the voltage is greater than 11 V.

Move on to Step 3

Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the flow meter

Replace the engine management control unit

Check the air flow rate signal Connect the Examiner in voltmeter mode between pins 4 and 2 of the isolater

Start up the engine and check for the presence of an air flow signal as shown in the attached diagram.

Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the flow meter

Check the seal of the flow meter hose, replace the flow meter if it is OK.

Temperature signal check

Connect the Examiner in voltmeter mode between pins 3 and 2 of the isolater

Turn the key to the MAR position

Check for the presence of the air temperature signal in PWM in duty cycle (at fixed frequency) as shown in the attached diagram.

Replace the flow meter
