ABS AND HANDBRAKE WARNING LIGHTS BOTH ON

The handbrake lever is released

The handbrake warning light also indicates a low brake fluid level and, if it is on at the same time as the ABS warning light, a malfunction of the EBD system. The command to switchon the handbrake warning light is sent by the switch on the lever to the Body Computer Node which makes it available on the B-CAN to the Instrument Panel Node.

	Connect an EXAMINER and check the following on CAN NETWORK INFORMATION: - No control units inactive - No faulty control units - No control units with faulty CAN line	Move on to Step 2	1. Fault on CAN network 2. Communication with the Body Computer impossible	1. Continue following the instructions given by the diagnostic equipment 2. Move on to Step 8
2	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Keeping the diagnostic equipment connected, check that there are no CAN faults at the BRAKE NODE	Move on to Step 3	Fault on C-CAN network	Continue following the instructions given by the diagnostic equipment
3	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Using the Examiner in the Instrument Panel Node mode, check that there are no errors and that the parameters are present	Move on to Step 4	Presence of errors	Continue following the instructions on the diagnostic instrument
4	ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY CHECK	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Check the electricity supply to the Instrument Panel Node is correct.	Move on to Step 5	Fault in positive electrical supply and/or earth	Replace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow)
5	ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS CHECK	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Check the wiring between the Body Computer and the Instrument Panel. In particular, check that each individual pin is properly connected	Move on to Step 6	Electrical connections not operational	Renew the damaged electrical connections
6	ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS CHECK	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	With the Examiner in the Instrument Panel Node ambient check that the warning lights are correctly activated in Active Diagnosis.	Move on to Step 7	The warning lights do not flash	Replace the Instrument Panel Op. 5560B10 CONTROL PANEL - R+R
7	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Using an Examiner check, in Body Computer Node mode, that there are no errors	Move on to Step 9	1. Impossible to connect to the Body Computer control unit 2. Presence of errors	1. Move on to Step 8 2. Continue by following the instructions on the diagnostic instrument
