ENGINE BUZZING

1.2 8v, 1.3 Multijet, 1.4 16v

There is a loud noise of constant intensity coming from the engine, and only heard within a specific field of rpm.

  • Flexible mountings
  • Reaction link

1. Incorrect fastening of engine mountings

2. Gearbox-side engine mounting defective

3. Timing-side engine mounting defective

4. Rear engine mounting defective

5. Front support flexible mounting defective

6. Rear support flexible mounting defective

7. Gearbox-side support flexible mounting defective

8. Reaction link incorrectly fastened.

1. Restore the correct fastening

2. Replace the gearbox-side engine mounting

3. Replace the timing-side engine mounting

Op. 1008A46 POWER UNIT RIGID SUPPORT - TIMING SIDE - R.R.

4. Replace the rear engine mounting

Op. 1008A44 POWER UNIT REAR RIGID SUPPORT - R.R.

5. Replace the front support flexible mounting

Op. 1008B10 POWER UNIT FRONT SUPPORT FLEXIBLE MOUNTING (TIMING SIDE) - REPLACE

6. Replace the rear support flexible mounting

Op. 1008B20 POWER UNIT REAR SUPPORT FLEXIBLE MOUNTING - REPLACE

7. Replace the gearbox-side support flexible mounting

Op. 1008B30 GEARBOX SIDE SUPPORT FLEXIBLE MOUNTING(S) - REPLACE

8. Renew the correct fastening.

Check that the exhaust pipe mountings are correctly fastened.Move on to Step 3

1. Mountings loose.

2. Mounting damaged.

1. Restore the correct fastening of the mountings.

2. Replace the damaged component.

Check the engine exhaust system, in particular:

  • Manifold
  • Pipe
  • Exhaust silencer
  • Catalytic converter front seal.
End of diagnosis

1. Pipe assembly damaged.

2. Rear silencer damaged.

3. Front gasket worn or damaged.

2. Replace the rear silencer
