Instrument panel showing the CODE warning light located at the top left, alongside other indicators including ACS and fuel gauge.

The Code 2 warning light is located on the instrument panel and is managed by the Code 2 ECU.

When the ignition key is turned to MAR, the warning light can signal one of the following situations:

  • on briefly (0.7s) and then off: key recognised, correct system operation;
  • on fixed: the ECU has detected one of the following errors:
  • key not recognised by the Code 2 ECU;
  • serial line between Code 2 ECU and engine control ECU not connected or no communication between ECUs;
  • no keys stored (new ECU from Spare Parts Division).

The operation diagram of the warning light is summarised in the following figure:

Timing diagram showing the CODE warning light behavior. The top trace shows the ignition key state switching from STOP to MAR. The bottom trace shows the light turning ON briefly for 0.7s when the key is in MAR, then OFF (marked OK). A second scenario shows the light staying ON continuously (marked with a crossed-out OK symbol).
