To come out of the alarm situation:
- press the remote control key (see the above section "DEACTIVATION");
- turn the emergency key to OFF.
Only use the latter procedure in emergency situations, where it is not possible to deactivate the alarm with the remote control.
NOTE In any case the alarm condition activated for the "SURVEILLANCE" remains memorised in the control unit.
VOLUMETRIC SURVEILLANCE DISABLING
There are two ways to cut off the volumetric surveillance before switching on the alarm system:
- With the ignition key in MAR position briefly press (0.5 seconds) the key on the receiver and then within a maximum time of 8 seconds turn the ignition key to STOP.
- With the ignition key on MAR, quickly turn the key in succession to: STOP - MAR - STOP.
Confirmation that the volumetric surveillance has been cut off is indicated by the dissuasion LED that lights up for 2 seconds.
NOTE The key can be brought back to MAR for a maximum of 30 seconds after this operation without restoring the volumetric surveillance; this is useful, for example, to allow the closing of electrically controlled windows.
If the key remains on MAR for more than 30 seconds, as for the second insertion of the alarm, volumetric surveillance is automatically reactivated.
ALARM SELF-ACTIVATION (ONLY FOR BELGIUM AND UNITED KINGDOM)
Vehicles with alarms programmed for Belgium and the United Kingdom have a "passive" function for "self-activation". This function ensures automatic activation of the alarm in a partial manner after a short time passes (28 seconds) since the driver has left the vehicle. This "passive" surveillance is the same as the normal mode and can be activated by the remote control, but it does not include the closing of the doors. The automatic activation takes place 28 seconds after these conditions are verified:
- ignition key moved from MAR to STOP;
- opening then subsequent closing of the last door opened.
The opening of any door or compartment (front/rear), before the 28 seconds have passed will lock the counting. Closure will restore counting that will start from zero.
NOTE The user, to return in possession of the vehicle after self-activation, has to press the remote control key once.
ALARM ACTIVATION WITHOUT THE SIREN
Whenever it is desired to cut out the siren operation in the case of an attempted break-in, it is necessary when activating the alarm system, to hold the remote control key pressed down for more than 4 seconds. After the acoustic/visual indications that the previously described activation has taken place, 5 siren "beeps" in rapid succession indicate that it has been cut out during surveillance. The siren will be restored next time the alarm system is switched on.
REMOTE CONTROL "BATTERIES LOW" INDICATION
This may be indicated in two ways:
- by just one flash of the remote control LED each time the alarm on key is pressed instead of a series of subsequent flashes;
- by the fixed light of the dissuasion LED switching on each time the alarm system is switched off.
When one of these two situations occurs the remote control batteries need changing. After the batteries have been replaced, the LED on the remote control will flash normally, while the dissuasion LED on the upper trim of the steering column will no longer indicate remote control batteries low.
PROGRAMMING
The alarm indication modes may vary according to the laws in force in the country of registration; therefore it is necessary to program the system inserting the "Country Code", as described further on.
The system "recognises" the code of unlimited remote controls, but only the last 8 remain memorised (when a ninth remote control is entered the first is deleted from the memory).
There are two programming modes:
- before entering the password: SIMPLIFIED PROGRAMMING;
- after closing the memory: PROTECTED PROGRAMMING.
NOTE Since it is important to carry out the programming procedure in a rapid and accurate sequence, it is advised, at least to start with, that two people carry out the operations: one reading the instructions in sequence and the other carefully carrying them out.
Each sender has a label indicating the password (a 4 digit code) to safeguard from unauthorised programming (protected programming). The labels (one for each sender) have to be removed by the customer at the moment of purchase and placed on the back of the CODE CARD (see the Fiat CODE section).
SIMPLIFIED PROGRAMMING
Memorising of a sender is always to be carried out with:
- alarm switched off by remote control (dissuasion LED off);
- ignition key on STOP/PARK or removed;
- emergency key on alarm ECU in the engine compartment in ON position.
