Database

A centralised database (for all markets) is managed by RICAMBI (Spare Parts Division) for ordering all system components.

The Production Plant transfers all the data required with the chassis number of new vehicles.

The SPARE PARTS DATABASE is used to manage the orders for spare parts received from Dealerships.

The database contains a great deal of information, including the following:

  • chassis number
  • ID1, ID2, (up to 8)
  • key mechanical code.

Intervention procedures

LOST KEY(S)

  1. Ask the customer for all the keys. Furthermore, the customer must prove ownership by showing the vehicle log book and personal ID.
  2. Run the procedure to store the remaining keys with Examiner or other diagnostic instrument on the Code 2 ECU. In this way the keys which are not included in the procedure can no longer be used. A list of valid keys can be printed out.
  3. Connect to FIAT RICAMBI and provide the chassis number and any other information required. Send a “depannage” order for one or more keys.
  4. FIAT RICAMBI by consulting the database on the basis of the chassis number will make a key with the following features:
    • same shape (with the indication that it is a spare).
    • Transponder with a new ID3 and the secret code of the Code 2 ECU fitted in the vehicle.
    • same mechanical code (metal insert).
    • a new TX3 remote control (for versions with alarm only).
Furthermore, the database is updated with the new ID3.
  5. FIAT RICAMBI will send the key to the Dealership within 24-48 hours.
  6. Run the key storing procedure with Examiner or other diagnostic instrument on the Code 2 ECU. Enter the new key(s) and the previous keys.
  7. Run a final check on the Code and alarm systems (where fitted) with Examiner or other diagnostic instrument.
