Operation

SWITCHING ON THE ALARM

The alarm is switched on by pressing the remote control key with the ignition key removed from the ignition switch: the activation is indicated by the turn lights that switch on for about 2.5 seconds and by a corresponding acoustic signal(beep). The remote control has a range of about10 metres.

SWITCHING OFF THE ALARM

The alarm is switched off by pressing the key on the remote control. Deactivation is indicated by two flashes of the turn lights and two corresponding acoustic signals (beeps).

NOTE The alarm can also be switched on just with the ignition key in STOP or PARK position.

The switching on or off is also indicated by the dissuasion LED and, only in countries where the law permits, by optical and acoustic signals as described previously for the "ITALY" operation modes.

CUTTING OFF THE ALARM

Should the remote control battery run low or if the system is faulty, it can be cut off by turning the emergency key to OFF position. When handing over the vehicle check that the emergency key is in ON position

Turn the key to OFF if the vehicle is to be left out of use for long periods (more than three weeks).

To restore the system, turn the emergency key to ON once more.

SURVEILLANCE

During surveillance the dissuasion LED flashes at a frequency of 0.8 Hz and the alarm system checks:

  • doors and front/rear compartments;
  • battery disconnection and/or cutting of the cables;
  • ignition switch against insertion of unauthorised keys;
  • movements inside the passenger compartment (volumetric surveillance).

ALARM CONDITION

The system goes into alarm condition when one of the surveillance sensors detects an alarm situation. The alarm condition is indicated by the siren sounding for a maximum of three cycles of 26 seconds, as well as the turn lights flashing for a maximum of 4.7 minutes (only in countries where this is permitted by law) should the cause of the alarm persist. Otherwise the indication is limited to a cycle of 26 seconds.
