LH DRIVE SHAFT - DIESEL

Service repair no - 47.10.01

Remove

  1. Raise front of vehicle, one side.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

  1. Remove road wheel(s).
  2. Remove LH underbelly panel. See BODY, Repairs.
  3. Position container beneath differential housing.
  4. Knock back drive shaft nut stake.
Lh drive shaft - diesel – Knock back drive shaft nut stake.
  1. With an assistant depressing brake pedal remove and discard drive shaft nut.
  2. Remove nut and bolt securing yoke to lower arm and nut and bolt securing yoke to to damper.
  3. Release and remove yoke.
Lh drive shaft - diesel – Release and remove yoke.
  1. Remove nut from lower ball joint.
  2. Break taper joint using tool 18G 2 and release knuckle from lower arm.

CAUTION: Do not damage ball joint boot.

Lh drive shaft - diesel – Break taper joint using tool 18G 2 and release knuckle from lower arm.
  1. Pull knuckle outwards and release drive shaft from hub.
