High pressure fuel check

Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and select the engine control unit

Select the diesel fuel pressure parameter

Turn the key to the AVV position for several seconds

Check that the pressure is around 300 bar.

Low pressure system check

If the high pressure value is wrong, check:

If the tank is empty or the low pressure fuel pump filter is blocked/dirty, if the low pressure pump is defective or the pressure relief valve (built into the pump) is blocked open

Low pressure pump relay faulty Fuse blown

Low pressure pump wiring interrupted

Fuel filter blocked

Leaks from the low pressure hydraulic circuit

OVER-FLOW valve on the filter faulty

Fill the tank with sufficient fuel

Replace the submerged electric pump

Replace the relay

Replace 15A fuse F21 after finding out what caused it to blow

Restore the correct wiring continuity

Replace fuel filter [PR_1044B10]

Restore the correct system seal

Replace the fuel filter

Op. 1044B10 FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY - R + R OR REPLACE

High pressure system check

Check:

• There are no fuel leaks in the high pressure circuit
• Injector/s blocked open or with excessive recirculation
• Pressure regulator on rail blocked open or with excessive recirculation
• Rail pressure sensor faulty, value within electrical range but not plausible
• High pressure pump defective (low efficiency)

Restore the correct system seal.

Replace faulty injectors

Replace the pressure sensor
