INJECTOR ONE R R
Removing
Don''t proceed to replace all the injectors in a preventative manner. Only replace those that are actually faulty.
Before replacing them check for any error codes with the Examiner.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the air filter mountings.
1. Prise up spring (1a) from its position and disconnect fuel manifold hose to injector (1b)
2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the injector.

3. Undo the nut securing the injector retaining bracket.
1. Pinch the injector using extractor tool (1a) and special mount (1b).
If the injectors are being reused, mark the cylinder to which they belong so that they can be correctly refitted.
If a new/new injector/s are fitted, run the self-learning procedure using an Examiner.

1. Remove injector (1a) and retaining bracket (1b).
- Repeat the above procedure to remove the remaining injectors.
- Remove the injector sealing rings from the cylinder head extension.
These seals are replaced each time they are dismantled.
Refitting
Before refitting, replace copper rings on the injectors.
1. Fit injector (1a) in position and retaining bracket (1b).
2. Tighten the nut securing the injector retaining bracket to the recommended torque.

3. Connect the electrical connection for the injector.

4. Connect fuel manifold hose to injector (4a) and secure it with the retaining clip (4b).
- Repeat the above procedure to reassemble the remaining injectors.
If one or more injector is replaced, it is necessary to follow some procedures using the diagnostic instrument after resetting some self-learning data located in the engine control unit, to report their value in the predetermined ranges.
To carry out this procedure it is necessary to:
- connect the diagnostic equipment;
- with the engine switched off, turn the ignition key to the MAR position;
- follow the instructions given for this procedure by the diagnostic instrument;
- at the end of the procedure, turn the ignition key to the OFF position and wait for the data to be stored.
- Remove the air filter mountings.
