When replacing the engine management control unit, carry out a self-learning procedure using the diagnostic instrument.

This procedure ensures that the engine strategy operates correctly and therefore the self-adaptive parameters are updated correctly.

To carry out this procedure it is necessary to:

- connect the diagnostic instrument;

- with the engine switched off, turn the ignition key to the MAR position.

- follow the instructions relating to the procedure that are given by the diagnostic instrument;

- at the end of the operation, turn the key to the OFF position and wait while the data is stored.
