1.9 JTD 8v

Removing

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r

- 1092A12 crankshaft pulley - r+r for versions with air conditioner

- 1032D12 timing system protective cover(s) - r + r

- 1032B14 toothed timing belt - r + r for timing adjustment or replacement versions with air conditioner

- 1060E30 pressure pump pulley - r r

- 1060F50 fuel return manifold - r r

1. Unscrew the pipe connector from the return manifold.

2. Unscrew the pipe connector from the pressure pump.

3. Remove the pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold.

1.9 JTD 16v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R..

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r.

- 1092G14 engine component single belt mobile tensioner - r + r.

- 1092G21 engine component single belt fixed tensioner - r rwith belt removed

- 1032D12 timing system protective cover(s) - r + r.

- 1032B10 toothed timing belt - r + r for timing adjustment or replacement.

- 1060E30 pressure pump pulley - r r

1. Disconnect the rapid attachment for the fuel return pipe from the fuel filter, return manifold pipe side.

2. Disconnect the rapid attachment for the fuel return pipe to the tank, fuel return manifold pipe side.

3. Disconnect the pressure pump fuel return pipe, fuel return manifold pipe side.

4. Disconnect the pipe from the injectors to the fuel return manifold pipe, fuel return manifold pipe side.

1.9 JTD 8v

1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel pressure regulator.

2. Disconnect the fuel inlet pipe from the pump fitting.

3. Unscrew the nuts retaining the pump to the mount.

4. Remove the pressure pump.

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the fuel return manifold pipe (1b).

2. Unscrew the upper bolt of the engine oil dipstick.

1.9 JTD 8v

Refitting

Fit the pressure pump to its mount.

Tighten the nuts securing the pump to the mount to torque.

Connect the fuel inlet pipe to the pump.

Connect the electrical connection to the fuel pressure regulator.

Fit a new pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold.

Whenever you work on the pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold, always fit a new pipe when reassembling to avoid leakage from the fittings.

Tighten the connectors on the pressure pump and return manifold to torque.

- 1032D12 timing system protective cover(s) - r + r

- 1092A12 crankshaft pulley - r+r for versions with air conditioner

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Undo the connectors (1a), (1b) and remove the pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold (1c).

When refitting, fit a new pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the fuel pressure regulator.

2. Disconnect the fuel delivery pipe from the tank from the pressure pump.

3. Unscrew the nuts securing the pressure pump to the mount.

4. Remove the pressure pump.

Refitting

Fit the pressure pump and secure to the studs on the pump mount.

Tighten the retaining nuts to torque.

Connect the fuel delivery pipe from the tank to the pressure pump.

Connect the electrical connection for the fuel pressure regulator.

Fit a new pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel manifold and fix it using the connectors without tightening them.

Tighten the connector for the pipe from the pressure pump to the single fuel manifold, pump side, to the recommended torque using a suitable spanner.

Tighten the connector for the pipe from the pressure pump to the single fuel manifold, fuel manifold side, to the recommended torque using a suitable spanner.

Fit the fuel return manifold pipe and fix it using the bolts.

Connect the fuel return pipe from the pressure pump to the fuel return manifold pipe.

Connect the pipe from the injectors to the fuel return manifold pipe, fuel return manifold pipe side.

Connect the rapid attachment for the fuel return pipe to the tank, fuel return manifold pipe side.

Connect the rapid attachment for the fuel return pipe from the fuel filter, return manifold pipe side.

Connect the battery negative terminal.

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Connect the battery negative terminal.

Remove the vehicle from the lift.
