Refit
NOTE: If the SRS component is to be replaced,
the bar code of the new unit must be recorded.
1. Ensure battery terminals are clean.
2. Position battery disconnect unit to junction box,
fit nut and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lbf.ft). Fit cover.
3. Fit battery disconnect unit to the positive
battery terminal and tighten nut. Fit cover.
4. Position positive lead to the battery disconnect
unit, fit nut and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lbf.ft). Fit
cover.
5. Connect multiplug to battery disconnect unit.
6. Connect battery leads, earth lead last.

Before disconnecting the battery, ensure all text and
cautions in the battery disconnection section are
observed.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Electrical
WARNING: Always disconnect both battery leads
before beginning work on the SRS system.
Disconnect the negative lead first. Never reverse
connect the battery.
Remove
1. Make the SRS system safe.
Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)
Precautions.
2. Remove steering wheel
3. Remove steering column nacelle.
CAUTION: Centralise the steering wheel
with the road wheels in the straight ahead
position. This will ensure that the rotary
coupler is locked as the steering wheel is
removed.
4. Remove 4 Torx screws securing rotary coupler
assembly to column. Release coupler
assembly.
