EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET - ’D’ SERIES

Service repair no - 30.15.12

Remove

  1. Remove front pipe to manifold gasket, See this section.

  1. Up to 97.5 MY: Remove engine oil dipstick.
  2. Remove 4 bolts securing heat shield to exhaust manifold and remove heat shield.
  3. Release oxygen sensor multiplug from bracket. Disconnect multiplug.
Exhaust manifold gasket - ’d’ series – Release oxygen sensor multiplug from bracket. Disconnect multiplug.
  1. Remove 2 bolts securing exhaust manifold support bracket and remove bracket.
Exhaust manifold gasket - ’d’ series – Remove 2 bolts securing exhaust manifold support bracket and remove bracket.
  1. Remove 9 nuts securing exhaust manifold to cylinder head.
  2. Remove exhaust manifold.
  3. Remove and discard exhaust manifold gasket.

Refit

  1. Clean manifold mating faces.
  2. Fit new gasket to manifold studs.
Exhaust manifold gasket - ’d’ series – Fit new gasket to manifold studs.
  1. Fit manifold on studs and tighten nuts in the sequence illustrated to 31 Nm.
  2. Fit manifold support bracket and tighten bolts to 44 Nm.
  3. Connect oxygen sensor multiplug and secure to bracket.
  4. Fit manifold heat shield and tighten bolts to 24 Nm.
  5. Up to 97.5 MY: Fit engine oil dipstick.
  6. Fit front pipe to manifold gasket, See this section.
