Radiator Surge Tank Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the plenum water deflector-center. Refer to Plenum Water Deflector Replacement - Center .
3. Remove the dash upper extension panel opening cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement .

4. Remove the engine coolant air bleed hose (6), remove the clamp.
5. Remove the radiator surge tank engine hose (5), remove the clamp.
6. Remove radiator surge tank clip (2).
7. Disconnect coolant level sensor wirring harness plug (4).

Note:  Unclip the readiator surge tank from bracket (3).
8. Remove the radiator surge tank (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the radiator surge tank (1).
2. Connect coolant level sensor wirring harness plug (4).

Note:  Clip the readiator surge tank to bracket (3).
3. Install radiator surge tank clip (2).
4. Install the radiator surge tank engine hose (5), install the clamp.
5. Install the engine coolant air bleed hose (6), install the clamp.
6. Install the dash upper extension panel opening cover. Refer to Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement .
7. Install the plenum water deflector-center. Refer to Plenum Water Deflector Replacement - Center .
8. Fill the coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
