ABS FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ON

1.2 8v, 1.3 Multijet, 1.4 16v

N.B: The Brake Node sends the ABS warning light on message via the C-CAN to the Body Computer which makes it available via the gateway to the Instrument Panel Node through the B-CAN.

Test results
0PRELIMINARY CHECKSAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Connect an EXAMINER and check the following on CAN NETWORK INFORMATION:

  • No control units inactive
  • No faulty control units
  • ABS control unit connector correctly fitted
Move on to Step 1

1.Fault in CAN

2. ABS control unit connector not correctly connected

1. Continue following the instructions given by the diagnostic equipment

2. Fit the ABS control unit connector correctly

1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Keeping the diagnostic instrument connected, check the following on the BRAKE NODE:

  • No system/component errors
  • No CAN faults
Move on to Step 2

1. System/components faulty

2. Fault on C-CAN network

1. Continue following the instructions given by the diagnostic equipment

2. Continue following the instructions given by the diagnostic equipment

2CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Using the Examiner diagnostic equipment check, in Instrument Panel mode, that there are no errors and that the parameters are present.Move on to Step 3Presence of errorsContinue by following the instructions on the diagnostic equipment.
3ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
With the Examiner in the Instrument Panel Node ambient check that the ABS warning light is correctly activated in Active DiagnosisEnd of diagnosisThe ABS warning light does not flash

Replace the Instrument Panel
