Front subframe - front mounting

25. Slowly lower vehicle onto subframe.
26. Align subframe mountings to body.
27. Fit nuts and bolts securing subframe, tighten: Rear bolts to 45 Nm, Front bolts to 30 Nm.
28. Raise vehicle on ramp.
29. Remove table.
30. Models with A/C: Clean A/C pipe ends lubricate new ’O’ rings with clean refrigerant oil and fit to A/C pipes.
31. Connect A/C pipes and tighten: 18 mm dia pipe to 44 Nm, 12 mm dia pipe to 25 Nm.
32. All models: Connect coolant hoses and secure with clips.
33. Steptronic EM-CVT models: Clean fluid cooler pipes and fit new ’O’ rings.
34. Connect fluid cooler pipes and tighten unions to 14 Nm.
35. All models: Fit pipe support bracket, fit nut and bolt and tighten to 10 Nm.
36. Fit ABS sensors and spacers, fit bolts and tighten to 10 Nm.
37. Align front dampers to hubs, fit nuts and bolts and tighten 45 Nm.
38. Secure ABS harness in grommets.
39. Release LH and RH calipers, position to hub, fit bolts and tighten to 85Nm.
40. Fit front wheels.
41. Clean hydragas pipe ends and fit new ’O’ rings.
42. Align hydragas pipe unions to hydragas units and tighten to 20 Nm.
43. Evacuate and pressurise hydragas system. See Adjustments.
44. Refill cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM, Adjustments.
45. Steptronic EM-CVT models: Refill gearbox fluid. See AUTOMATIC GEARBOX - ’EM-CVT’, Adjustments.
46. Models with A/C: Recharge A/C system.
47. All models: Position universal joint to steering column.
48. Fit universal joint clamp bolt, and tighten to 22 Nm.
49. Connect battery positive lead, fuse box and main fuse leads, secure lead in clips.
50. Connect battery earth lead.
51. Check front wheel alignment. See STEERING, Adjustments.

FRONT SUBFRAME - FRONT MOUNTING

Service repair no - 68.40.02

Remove

1. Raise front of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

2. Remove 2 bolts securing subframe mount to body.
3. Remove bolt securing subframe mount to subframe and remove mount.

Refit

1. Fit mount to subframe and secure with bolt.
2. Fit bolts securing subframe mounting to body and tighten to 30 Nm.
3. Tighten subframe mounting bolt to 100 Nm.
4. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.
