VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

Service repair no - 12.30.26

Remove

  1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
  2. Remove camshaft cover. See this section.
  3. Remove inlet and exhaust camshafts. See ’K’ Series Engine Overhaul Manual - Overhaul.

  1. Using a 16 mm spark plug socket, remove spark plug.
Valve stem oil seal – Using a 16 mm spark plug socket, remove spark plug.
  1. Fit and tighten air line adaptor tool MS 1567 into spark plug hole.
  2. Connect an airline to adaptor and apply air pressure.
  3. Remove hydraulic tappet from exhaust valve.

CAUTION: Store tappet inverted to prevent oil loss.
