CAMSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL

Service repair no - 12.13.06

Remove

  1. Remove undertray. See BODY, Exterior fittings.
  2. Remove FIP timing belt cover. See this section.
  3. Remove camshaft timing belt upper cover. See this section.
Camshaft rear oil seal – Remove camshaft timing belt upper cover. See this section.
  1. Restrain camshaft gear using tool 18G 1521.
  2. Loosen but do not remove FIP timing belt drive gear bolt.
Camshaft rear oil seal – Loosen but do not remove FIP timing belt drive gear bolt.
  1. Insert timing pin 18G 1523 through hole in gearbox adapter plate, hold pin in contact with flywheel, and using assistance, rotate crankshaft clockwise until timing pin enters flywheel.

CAUTION: Never use the camshaft gear, gear retaining bolt or timing belt to rotate crankshaft.

  1. Check that timing marks on camshaft gear and back cover are aligned.
