  1. Connect multiplug to MAF sensor.
  2. Connect breather hose to camshaft cover and tighten clip.
  3. Remove jack from beneath engine.
  4. Fit auxiliary drive belt. See ELECTRICAL, Adjustments.
  5. Connect battery earth lead.
  6. Refill cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM - ’L’ SERIES, Adjustments.

CAMSHAFT COVER GASKET

Service repair no - 12.29.40

Remove

  1. Remove plenum chamber. See FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, Repairs.
  2. Remove turbocharger outlet pipe. See ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - EDC, Repairs.
Camshaft cover gasket – Remove turbocharger outlet pipe. See ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - EDC, Repairs.
  1. Loosen clip and disconnect engine breather hose from camshaft cover.
  2. Remove bolt securing brake servo vacuum pipe to camshaft cover.
Camshaft cover gasket – Remove bolt securing brake servo vacuum pipe to camshaft cover.
  1. Using sequence shown, remove 12 bolts securing camshaft cover.
  2. Remove camshaft cover.
