CAMSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL - LH BANK

Service repair no - 12.13.42

Remove

  1. Remove camshaft rear timing belt. See this section.

  1. Remove camshaft oil seal using tool 18G 1768.

Refit

CAUTION: Front and rear oil seals are not interchangeable. Ensure outer edge of new oil seal and its mating face are clean and dry.

  1. Clean oil seal recess and camshaft.
  2. Lubricate inner lip of seal with clean engine oil.
Camshaft rear oil seal - lh bank – Lubricate inner lip of seal with clean engine oil.
  1. Ensure oil seal protector tool 18G 1749 is clean and fit to camshaft.
  2. Locate seal, position 18G 1769 to seal and drift into position.
  3. Remove tool 18G 1749.
  4. Fit camshaft rear timing belt. See this section.
