  1. Fit breather hoses to LH and RH camshaft covers.
  2. Connect h.t. leads to spark plugs and secure leads to clips.
  3. Clean timing cover backplate bolts and apply Loctite 242 to first 3 threads.
  4. Ensure seal is fitted correctly to timing cover backplate. Position backplate, fit bolts and tighten to 9 Nm.
  5. Clean and thoroughly dry timing gear and hub.
  6. Fit timing gear and hub and fit bolt. tighten bolt sufficiently to allow gear to rotate without tipping.
  7. Fit camshaft timing belt. See this section.
  8. Fit exhaust manifold. See MANIFOLD & EXHAUST SYSTEMS, Repairs.
  9. Refill cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM - ’KV6’, Adjustments.

Remove

  1. Remove engine acoustic cover, See BODY, Repairs.
Camshaft cover gasket - lh – Remove engine acoustic cover, See BODY, Repairs.
  1. Remove 2 bolts securing spark plug cover to camshaft cover. Remove cover.
