Alternator drive belt - ’k’ series with air conditioning

ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT - ’K’ SERIES WITH AIR CONDITIONING

Service repair no - 86.10.03.20

Remove

1. Raise front of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

2. Remove underbelly panel. See BODY, Exterior fittings.
3. Remove power steering pump drive belt. See STEERING, Repairs.

4. Loosen drive belt tensioner pulley securing bolt.

5. Release drive belt tension by turning the tension adjusting bolt anti-clockwise.
6. Remove 2 bolts securing RH torque mounting to body.
7. Remove 2 bolts securing RH torque mounting to mounting bracket.
8. Remove RH torque mounting.
9. Release drive belt from alternator and compressor pulleys.
10. Remove and discard drive belt.

Refit

1. Clean pulley ’V’s.
2. Fit new drive belt to crankshaft pulley and connect to alternator and compressor pulleys. Ensure grooves on drive belt and pulleys are correctly located.
3. Adjust drive belt tension. See Adjustments.
4. Fit and adjust power steering pump drive belt. See STEERING, Repairs.
5. Position RH torque mounting and fit 2 bolts securing torque mounting to mounting bracket.
6. Tighten bolts, RH torque mounting to mounting bracket, to 60 Nm.
7. Fit bolts securing RH torque mounting to body and tighten to 45 Nm.
8. Fit underbelly panel. See BODY, Exterior fittings.
9. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.
