Note:

  • Before fault finding check:
    the battery,
    the tension of the alternator belt,
    that the self-diagnosis indicator light of the engine control module (ECM) does not blink. If it blinks (20 times), see ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - PGM-Fi
  • Fault find by performing the following tests in the order listed below.

Charging system light does not go off because the engine idle speed is too low; check the idle speed.
